2002 Maxima with 228k mi. I had exhaust noise so I changed the rear muffler which had a small rusting hole. It only got a little better. Now, the noise seems to come from the front. I went under the car and carefully checked the along the whole length from the "Y" to the muffler and saw no holes. So where else does it most likely come from? I can't easily see the exhaust manifold without removing things. Also, the noise seems to subside when the weather warms up, if that helps.

what type of noise? is it a rattle like something shaking around? or just a noise like an exhaust leak( hole in the exhaust system)?
