Belt problems.

Someone please tell me how I can access the P/S hinge bolt for the inner drive belt in the alldata diagram...the tensioner bolt and locking bolt both fell out because I accidentally went too far with it.

Here is a video on changing the power steering belt where the guy talks about loosening 2 bolts before doing the tensioner bolt. Maybe this will help you.

don't fret, first time I tried to do power steering belt, I tried to loosen it which I didn't know which direction and I ended up bending the bracket. Which in turn I had to take it to shop to get the damn belt replace. Lesson learned, I ended up getting a new bracket with the bolt from the junkyard and what little I did not know was the bolt behind the pump which supposedly go loosen first before doing the tension bolt.

yeah, I had already watched that video. He doesn't go into a lot of detail about that rear bolt. Seems like he already pre-loosened the bolts to make it look easy. I finally managed to get the belt on.... but the pump did not drop to the point where it was easy, I had to have someone apply pressure from the top to make it drop to where we could stretch it on. Seemed like something was in the way and preventing it from descending completely. Now how do I get the tensioner and locking bolt back into place?

I have only had to change the belt and not anything else. I followed Pmohr's video and had no problems, the pump moved easily.

I hope someone else will jump in and give you the answer.

I finally got the tensioner and locking bolt in with the help of my roommate, but it took a while, and lot's of @*#$! audibles. I loosened the 14mm bolt to where it was REALLY wobbly in it's threading, but the pump still had to be forced down by pushing on the bracket, to get the belt on. Could it have been because tensioner and locking bolt assembly both fell out? It's a mystery, maybe there was something in the way. Now I have to put the idler pulley back together, and I'm wondering if I am missing a washer/spacer for the sliding bolt that bracket. I have the thick one, but it seems like there is another one between the bracket and the tensioner bolt hole. https://dz310nzuyimx0.cloudfront.net...5cde0469e5.png
