03 se te 6mt
03 se te 6mt
I have an 03 Maxima SE TE 6MT. 174K mi on the car, and 99K mi on the 2nd engine. The original engine was an oil burner, and I was unlucky enough for the 2nd engine to be an oil burner as well. The 2nd engine was from an 05 Maxima AT.
Anyway I am getting the Camshaft position codes, white smoke, misfire code, poor idle and dying when driving if I let the rpms drop to low while shifting. This combination of issues has been discussed by others on this very forum. In my particular case I do not think it is going to be an easy fix.
I have decided that I am not going to dump any more money into the car. I love driving it, but its just time to move on to something newer.
Given the mods and upgrades I have done with the help of this forum over the last 10 years, I was hoping to pass it along to someone that will appreciate it.
Here is the list of mods/upgrades:
Transmission from 05 Sentra SE-R with LSD and final drive swap
350Z clutch
Fidanza Flywheel
KYB GR-2/Excel-G Struts on all 4 corners
Drilled/Slotted rotors and ceramic pads
Also all of the front suspension components that have ever needed replaced have been replaced, and I even have the remainder of a "10 pc front suspension kit".
Plus all of the other maintenance that has needed to be done, including wheel bearings, clutch master cylinder, blower motor, and even the evap canister valve.
The exterior and leather interior are in very good shape for a 15yr old car. The PW, sunroof, and heated power seats all work fine.
FWIW: The timing chain and tensioners are new. We replaced them on the new engine since it was from an 05.
Anyway, I do not plan on donating the car. Since it runs and drives it is really not convenient to part it out or scrap it. But I wanted to mention it here because I really do not want to post it on craigslist locally here in Indianapolis.
I will attach some recent pics to this post soon. PM me for more info if you have some use for this.
