I have a 2003 3.5 maxima , car randomly had no pedal response when I pushed it to the floor I coasted to a stop idles fine, neutral revs up normal, drive and reverse I get nothing when pushing the gas.. all the forums say different things varying from ( alternator, vacuum leak, MAF, bad ground, knock sensor,) I’m not trying to spend a crap ton at a mechanic if it’s an easy fix but the alternator job is tough without a lift or jack or jack stands. So just wondering if it’s a simple fix or not. Has new plugs and ignition packs. Check engine light was on dude to 02 sensor/ bank 2 catalyst. And converters cost a lot so that’s why haven’t got that done yet. Or is that the issue?
if the engine isn't revving when you tap the gas check the rubber stopper that the pedal makes contact with. it's the rubber green piece in the pic. it's the same as the one you would normally use for the brake switch but it's green. Nissan doesn't sell the green one but the black one for the brake switch works fine..
Hard to understand what your problem is with no periods in your explanation. Sounds like it Rev's to your throttle input only in Neutral? Is that correct? Check the stop button of the your throttle first! Then if it's there (The green plastic stop) i would say you have a tranny issue.
