Hey I just got the Frankencar intake for my car.. and I notice how loud it is taking off etc.. but I heard a strange sound coming frommy intake .. It's like a whistling noise or screaching noise.. It's comes right when you step on the gas and accelerate .. it's not the loud noise from the intake .. then it stops but when I step on it again it does it once again.. I took it to my friend he works at a shop here in az.. and They said it is because of the way the intake was welded on the plate.. I was wondering if anyone had the same weird sound from their frankencar intake..?

 

Sounds like an air leak somewhere in the intake system... if you cant find it, dont worry. Im sure its fine, though rather annoying. try listening to it with your hood propped and rev the engine. You should be able to locate it. good luck!

That is normal. I have that too. BOV sound haha

 

its normal i had the stillen cone intake and it did the same almost like a TURBO!!!! hehe its just barely sucking air in so it whistles!!!

don't have the frakencar, but I think it is normal for all our intakes. I get this whistle in my PRCAI. I had a freind riding beside my in his car, and he kept asking what that was ... he then proceeded to ask if I had put a turbo on there told him no and floored it.

yup it's just like a turbo whine when you first step on the gas. sounds so nice. i love it.
