2003 Max: Ac not working need help
I may be posting this in the wrong place I don’t know if so my bad but I have a 2003 Maxima I just had my axles replaced and had alll 4 motor mounts installed but after I got my car back my ac all of a sudden would not blow any air but if I get on the gas really hard or I hit a decent size bump in the road it would start blowing just like normal it doesn’t work every time but occasionally it will, recently it hasn’t been working if I turn it on it will start to blow a tiny bit of air but then it stops after like 5 seconds I checked all my fuses and everything is good, you can hear the compressor kick on and the ac when it does come on I can change the setting of the temp and fan and it will do it but once I can get it to turn on it will stay on until I turn off the car and then it stops working so I’m not sure if something could be loose or if my blower motor is bad, I honestly have no clue but any info y’all could give me I would greatly appreciate as i don’t want to start buying and installing parts that are not needed and the fact I live in Texas says it all thanks for any help
yes exactly so when I turn on my ac as of right now it will start to act like it’s gonna start blowing air through the vents but it only last for like 5 seconds and shuts off but every now and then if I punch on the gas or hit a bump in the road it starts blowing air like it normally would does not happen every time but it has seemed to work and once it kicks in I can adjust it and it keeps running until I turn off the car. I just don’t know if something could have come loose or if it’s the blower motor but I don’t know much about ac system so any info you could give would help seems to me like a blower motor but again I have no clue.
Ok, you have a blower motor problem. It is a possibility that the blower motor itself is going bag, the bearings are binding or the brushes are almost worn out. It is also possible that you have a loose connection somewhere, although I think this is less likely.
If you remove the glove box, you will see the blower motor above it. Turn on the ignition and the blower fan (heat or a/c) and see if it spins. If it doesn't, tap the fan motor with something (a small hammer, a screwdriver handle, etc). You don't need to hit it super hard. If it spins when you tap it, the motor needs to be replaced. Unplug the electrical connection and 3 or 4 screws and it comes out (using a few swear words).
If the motor doesn't spin, you will need a voltmeter to do some testing. Do you have one?
