The tires that should have come with the car.
The difference between these and the RE-92's is amazing.

The picture speaks for itself.

I'll second that--I remember a post that said something like "changing lanes feels like the car is on a set of rails" and I couldn't agree more

Strange but mine CAME WITH THOSE!!

You know I have been reading here for months about the potenzas and other make of tires on the max but....I bought my 2k1 brand new car on Sept. 1, 2001 here in L.A. and MY CAR CAME WITH MICHELIN PILOT Z RATED TIRES!! They also came with steel valve stems... The car had 110 miles on it when i bought it but certainly not enought to justify putting new tires on it. They never said anything to me either or charge me a premium for them so I don't know what gives.

All I know is that I got real expensive tires (I think?) for free.
How much are these puppies? They do look and drive great, but Im afraid to replace them at such a high cost.

Oh, I guess I got a Windfall.

Size / Price

I got them at Costco for 202 each installed.

Costco is now the best place to purchase tires.

Yes, They had to order them .
Took only about 10 days to get them.

The difference is amazing.

I love the look of the tred.

Beautiful tires

Oh my, that is truly a beautiful and heartfelt poem...

I just got my Pilot Sport A/S's on my car for $841 out the door, and except for the chips they put on my rims, which they will pay to fix, these tires are AWESOME!!!

I tore through a clover leaf at about 65 mph and the tires didn't even start talking. And this was on Minnesota roads in 10 degree weather. And when it snowed a few days ago, I pulled away from SUV's at intersections like they were riding on, say, Potenza's.

They are SOOO worth the money, especially for the driver whose confidence is not easily inspired. One last thing, I pulled an extremely quick lane change on the highway, and my friend in the passenger seat pulled a muscle in his neck.

God Bless Michelin

down sides?

I'm looking into choices for blotenza replacements, I seem to remember quite a few post which posted some downsides to the michelin pilot a/s.

I think they were:
- louder at highway speeds
- wore down faster

Can you guys that own them comment, please. Also can you ad any personal dislikes you've come encountered with them.

thanks

- Louder at highway speeds...I think that may be true, but after they broke in there is no big difference from what I remember of stock.

- Wore down faster? That's not accurate if the numbers hold up. The RE92's have a single-A traction rating and a 260 treadwear rating. The Sport's have a double-AA traction rating with a 400 treadwear rating. They both have single-A temperature ratings.

I agree here. They are a bit louder on the highway...but for me the noise reminds me that my tires are actually connected to the ground. I actually enjoy it. Don't get me wrong, it's not like those big 4x4 tires that sound like tanks rolling by.

If these new michelins last as long as the potenza's did (43K miles) I'll be happy. The potenza's looked like crap when the costco boys took them off my car. They were soooo worn down on the outer edges.
