Coolant leaking on bottom of oil pan.

Hmm it seems impossible to remove the water pump bolts without removing the pass engine mount.

Yeah leak seems to be getting worse as the whether gets cooler, gonna take it to a shop early in the morning hopefully they don't try to charge me too much money or else may try n do it myself since the part isn't that expensive. Seems they are definitely not making parts like they used to although I have no idea where the mechanic who changed the water pump before got it from

SO took to a shop u all were right, water pump is leaking pretty bad, could see the leak much better after removing the compressor, and doing a pressure check. Gonna let the shop do since they replaced the front seal, and new powersteering belt on monday since their labor is around $270 for the water pump job as long as i get the part.

That's a good price given book time of 3.8 hrs, which they usually bend you over for.

Yah you are right about that over the weekend I did a little pratice on a g-35 which the water pump and tensioner sit in the front. Turned the crank about 20 degrees counter clockwise after removing tensioner. Got the chain pretty loose, took out the water pump and put it back in, turn crank 20 degrees clockwise to tighten water pump side, but could not get the tensioner to go back in, do you turn the crank further clockwise to relieve tension on the tensioner side?

ok i read your write up again on water pump removal and install, I understand everything else except the part where you say on step 15 to crank the engine a little to give the chain guide slack? But you didnt specify which way or how to do it lol. thats where im confused. I understand the part about turning the crank 20 degrees counter clockwise to get the tension off the chain on the water pump side, just a little confused about how to get the chain to slack up once the pump is in, and get the tensioner side to slack, and once in to tighten up.

I don't remember. I just turned it some and slack appeared LOL. As long as you're not turning it counter clockwise too much, then it should be fine. I probably turned it back CC some, b/c I doubt forward will do anything. It wasn't a lot, you can figure it out when you do it.

Well I paid a shop to do it, I won't be going that route again lol next time hopefully I'll do it myself. I paid $470 for labor and a new tensioner they said I needed, because the original one would not compress far enough to install a pin to hold it in. So now that I see how both parts look, I'm doing it next time lol.

Sissy men couldn't compress a tensioner lol. It's only a spring. Well, at least we know they can't pleasure any women.
