Ok long story short I lost a close friend earlier this year I purchased his 01 max from his mom .I knew the car was in rough but fairly sound. Od light will sometimes blink when I turn the key on. Also it shifts for no apparent reason between od and the lower gear sometimes it does perfectly fine others it never hits overdrive . On 2 occasions at around 60 it stopped pulling altogether .I pull over,kill the car,and restart and it's fine . IvI' never messed wowi transmissions that was Josh's area of expertise any ideas? This car is very important to me and all help needed thanks in advance .

Is it throwing any codes? (SES light)
The shift solenoids in the tranny can fail on these cars. It's not a huge deal if that's what it is. They're accessed by dropping the oil pan so the tranny stays in the car.
