Appointment Monday for recall work

Mossy Nissan said they'd be happy to replace the Takata air bag and the control arms. I don't think the control arms are necessary but why not get them if they're free. Maybe the new airbag will fix my SRS light

Good for you. Your post reminded me to check for recalls on my vehicle at the NHTSA website. No recall for me.

Then good for you too I got the info here so that sticky is helpful. I'm hoping it doesn't take too long. At the Acura dealer I was in and out quick for the airbag so that shouldn't take long. The controls arms... not too hopeful on that being quick. I'm assuming those control arms have been on since the car was new.I just replaced the ball joints when I did the wheel bearings and tie rods. I think they're fine. New bushing would be cool. Being able to remove the electrical tape covering my flashing SRS light would be priceless

I was wondering that...I've never seen any issue with arms as they can last 200k. Unless there was a bad run.

Arms are a cinch to replace and VERY easy on a lift. Electric impact FTW.

Yeah but when the dealer does it for free that's a better win. Mine didn't get replaced though. They had none in stock and neither did any other dealer or warehouse in the area so they had to order some. I think they should have made sure they had the parts before they asked me to come in but I have to say Mossy Nissan rocks. Everybody there was nice and treated me like a paying customer instead of some guy getting recall work on an 18 year old car. They even gave me a ride home
