afaik, your options are either OBX headers, which work fine but require slight modification to work and costs around $700 which is at least double of what they used to sell for. You could also get 3.5 altima headers which are less expensive and fit the block but require you to reweld the flanges between the headers/ypipe because they are not orientated the way they need to be. OR, stalk the classifieds subforum for a year or two for the rare used set of cattmans for sale.

edit: simply boring out your precats is also a good option, and obviously the cheapest/easiest.

Well...since they don't make Cattman products anymore...it's either OBX's or Nisformance's (best) options:

I bought OBX headers and they're more of a pain to deal with than just gutting your precats. I also didn't like the way the car ran with the headers installed; seemed like i lost quite a bit of low end torque and the sound was funky. They're now up in the attic and my OEM gutted precats are on the car.

glad that im not the only one who caught that. Who in their right mind would drop $1600 on headers, let alone ones that will rot out from under you? I do like the idea of a bigger y though. I forgot where i saw it but isnt there a guy who modifies altima headers to fit with an enlarged ypipe + collectors?

I bet they could take that design to china . use 304ss and probably sell them for $400.

I know up by me a mild steel exhaust will last only 3-4 years.
