2002 Max Question

Hello All i just wanted to know if anyone knows what the sensor is that is between the bell housing and engine! i understand the crank and cam sensors are on the chain side of the engine! Thanks for any help.. I attached a pic!

Has a two wire plug going to it!

Thank you for that info!! Do i need any special tools other then a 10MM socket to remove the sensor? Also--I have has a slight rear main seal leak for years Very slight--would that effect the Cranksensor? I do not have a MIL light on and the car runs amaing at 175K full power dont even hear it running--Owned it from day one... I was going to remove that crank sensor and maybe clean it just for the hell of it--LOL But if you tell me oil and some dirt wont effect it i am good to go.. Thanks so much!! If its not broke leave it--Yes but in my mind i think about that oil getting on the sensor and causing me to get stuck! Thanks so much!
