So, after reading thru the forum about ECU failures, I decided to check my luck.
My best guess is this is not repairable and needs to be replaced at this point? Any info helps, ECU was PITA to remove in the first place

That chip can be replaced. There's other threads with the part number...assuming you can find it. Otherwise, just get one for 25 bucks from the junkyard and program keys with NDS2.

I was thinking of replacing the chip, but the board itself may have damage, due to the scoring around the circuit. But, on the end of the junkyard route, any tips for quicker removal? This took me around 2 hours. (I hate Nissan's obsession with screws over bolts.)

The bracket is held in by 4 bolts. I use a ratchet wrench. It's still a little tedious with the cramped space, but they come out just fine. I'll lose two of them when they fall, but no big deal, b/c I only put one on each side back in, b/c of the tight fit lol

Are you positive it's bolts? Mine had 4 screws, 2 facing front and 2 facing rear of the vehicle, but no bolt head. Was the largest pain I've had to endure so far.

Multiple cars were the same with 8mm combo screw/bolt, iirc. I guess you got...screwed.
Do you have a 2000? I never removed a 2000 before, just 2001+
