how to get out my ecu

How many screws do i have to pull to get loose the ecu, and does the ecu up grade give noticeable improvements

remove the bolts holding down the ECU brakect and then remove the whole ECU with the bracket attached. I think there is just two 10mm or 12mm bolts twords the rear of the car. I can't remeber if there are two at the front or not.

Either way, it's kinda a PITA to do. I could never get the ECU back in totally correct with the bolts. But I got it back in there so that I could put back on the plastic side covers so someone could never tell it was removed.

You have a 99, there isn't an ECU out for your car :-(
