Lighter Outlet works but not a car charger

I have a 2000 Nissan maxima and the lighter works but no adapter. What can I do?

Sounds like something is bent inside the outlet.

Lemme guess, the charger has those 2 electric prongs/contacts? Have you tried rotating/reorienting the charger inside the outlet? I have to do that, I believe the metal its suppose to contact doesn't go all the way around the inside of the outlet and you have to make sure it's in there right
