Idling Out

My 2001 5sp Manual has 205k and runs fine. But when I sit, letting it idle for quite a while (several minutes), it'll get an odd idle for a while. Eventually, it'll idle out. It's gotten worse lately, and it's dying frequently while I sit at red lights.

I usually figure it's a vacuum hose crack if it's an idle issue like this, but I figured I better ask if anyone knows if this is a common Maxima problem before u go changing all of the vacuum lines.

Thanks.

Not a common Maxima problem. My 2000 SE/AT will idle for hours, without dying or accelerating.

Dirty or bad MAF will cause stalling when sitting still. It don't always set a code either.

Thanks for the replies. I'll clean the MAF and throttle body and see how that affects it.
