Intermediate Radiator fan issue?

Since winter came in a couple of weeks ago, I started noticing my temp hand rising slightly, but only when in reverse . This problem came right after I turned on the heat/front/rear defrost.
I checked under the hood, and noticed one of the fans doesn't turn by it self, If I were to push the non working fan it would power on along with the other, but when turned back on it would not automatically start along with the working fan unless I give it a push. I know this is a fan problem, but Can this be fixed without installing a brand new radiator fan?

Well you could replace the brushes and bearings if you can find them.

Just buy a new assembly. They're cheap on amazon/ebay/rockauto. TYC is what I buy or spectra is the same thing, I'm sure. So easy to replace a nincompoop can do it.

Thanks, Spectra is the cheapest one at 67$. Dorman is the more expensive brand, for 110$. Does it make a difference if I get the cheaper one?

Makes sense. My car is still confusing me though, the passenger side fan isn't working for sure, but it's now driving normal, the temp hand is no longer going above the middle when reversing.
