Has anyone replaced parking brake cables on 2001 Maxima with aftermarket cables?
I purchased Carquest, Wearever brand from Advanced Auto (Dorman has similar issue here).
Driver side looks exactly the same as the oem with brackets.
Passenger side has what I guess are universal brackets, not like the oem cable brackets.
I'm returning them and waiting for Nissan cables from Courtesy Nissan.

Has anyone have issues with mounting the passenger side like this? The problem I see is that the heat shield shares a mount with the passengerside bracket. The universal doesn't seem to have that bracket.


Driverside. OEM Driver and Passenger brackets look the same, except mirror image for left and right mount. ON both OEM and Carquest part, the brackets are firmly fixed in place on the cable sheath.

Passenger side. The mounts slide around, are missing a bracket where one heat shield is also mounted.
