Exceeded 400,000 Miles

My 2000 Nissan maxima exceeded 400,000 miles last month. It has the original motor and transmission, though I had the motor pulled and the rear main seal replaced a while back. I have an excellent Nissan mechanic. I also recently use this forum when I needed to replace lights in my instrument panel.

That's a nice milestone to reach. I'm currently at 160k on my 2010 and hope to see at least 250k on it in the next 5 yrs.

I have bad news for you....unless you're 6 speed swapping.

But that one guy online says the 5 speed is garbage and won't make it past 100k.

For those of you who post high miles I would suspect you are in a no snow environment.

My 2000 has 199300 on it and salt will probably prevent anotber 20yrs for the ride.

Having a "Winter beater" is truth If u want a nice car.

True but that applies to all cars.

My 02 has not a spot of rust anywhere. I'm not sure of it's history. Would be nice to know where it came from. My 00 has the rusted radiator support but it's only about 5 sq.in. right in the middle. Still very small and an easy fix. It was bought new on Maui, spent 16 years there, and brought over to Portland.
