Sunroof intermittently opens/closes. Venting buttons always work EDIT - resolved

Hey all, I believe my failing part is the slider switch but wanted to confirm before pulling the trigger on a $75 replacement.

Sometimes, my sunroof just fails to open or close when operating the slider switch. I can then get it to respond after sliding the switch a couple of times. It responds all the time with the stepping buttons. Has anyone else experienced this?

EDIT - 2002 Maxima SE.

FWIW, I received my switch over the weekend and installed it. The slider switch has more resistance/tact/feel than the outgoing slider switch. And it worked every time I tested it on Sunday. When I ordered it, there was an updated part number than the original.

I only drive the car a couple times a month so I will update the next time I drive it and use it. I do feel better after the swap and really hope it resolves the issue of intermittent failing to slide.

Final update, I had the car out yesterday and had the sunroof opened/closed many times and it worked every time. I feel pretty confident that the switch fixed my issue.

Just an FYI, this is an old problem. A search would likely turn up showing replacing the switch. Worked for me.

do you happen to have a part number or where you got the switch from?
I have a 2003 and the open close switch feels loose and has never worked since I got the car used a year ago, the tilt works fine but switch won’t open it.
