Blowing motors

I'm having an issue with an 03 that belongs to a customer of mine. I put a healthy motor in his car, and when I went to start it, it threw 1600 codes. So I had the key reprogrammed and sent him on his way. A few weeks later the running and driving motor I put in ****ed up also. So I sent the junky yard motor back and they replaced it. I dropped it in and boom, 1600 codes again. So after asking around I've gotten some word of mouth ideas that the computer might be the culprit as far as blowing these motors. Just like the problem they were having with G37s. Can anybody confirm or deny my suspicions? I need to figure my next move with this car. I don't want it coming back again

He's paying for it, let him blow as many motors and come back as often as he wants. It's called a repeat customer.
