Supercharger Blues

I called Stillen to order my Supercharger yesterday for my 2001...

alas, Stillen said that the supercharger is for manual trannys only, and I have an auto; but they mentioned it could possibly be adapted w/ a custom mod.

Even worse, they said my auto tranny won't handle a supercharger-due to slippage (from the extreme power), which will cause my tranny to burn up. They said unless I want to do a complete new tranny (like a Level 10), I'm SOL.

Anyone contradictory info out there to add hope?

Yeah its possible Stillen just doesn't want to take responsibility for the tranny and b/c the tranny is in the way of the intake. There have been at least 2-3 cars in an Auto with a S/C, so it is possible.

Also Don's Valve Body will be a must. No need to Level 10.

Do a search for all the info. Welcome to the board.

I didn't; but since you're in, can you offer some input?

The orginal question is do you know of succesful supercharger installs on an 2000+ AUTO tranny Max? (Stillen mentioned my auto tranny wouldn't handle the charger, as is.)

If it is possible, will a Mobiletek valve body upgrade, transmission cooler, and torque converter upgrade be enough to fortify my autotranny for a supercharger?

First don't call stillen. Call Paul at avalon save a few bucks. Then you need a vb mod, at least. Though if you ever change boost get a new tranny. I recently found out third gear was all but gone in mine.

What custom mod were they refering to? Do they know that with the MobileTek VB upgrade there are 4th and 5th Gen Maximas pushing ~300FWHP with this mod? Stillen needs to open their eyes, get a deal worked with them and start selling the S/C to all the auto owners that they AREN'T selling to now.
Steve Millen drove Jane97se's car when she went there to have her S/C checked out, and he LOVED the way it performed with the VB upgrade.

Steve, are you listening?

We gave him Don's number. I guess Steve never called Don.

He was talking about superchargers that put out 6.5 psi... so you shouldn't be in here Mr. 2 PSI.

The custom mod is the intake pipe. The filter is so big it don't clear part of the tranny. So the big mod is a new filter
