Extremely delayed shift into drive
Extremely delayed shift into drive
Hello everyone. I recently finished a couple months of schooling in California. I drove from Texas with my 00' Maxima GLE, which currently has about 247k miles.
After the drive there, approximately 1450 miles, there was a slight delay in the park-drive shift. The fluid was about a quart low so I filled it up. (I have never seen it leak before.) That delay never went away, and during the drive back, the delay got much worse. If you dont let the car warm up, it pretty much won't go into drive. You can manually shift in 1 and 2 perfectly fine, no delay, and once the car is warmed up and it actually engages drive, it drives perfectly fine. Great shifts, no slipping.
I tried unplugging the drop resistor to see if that would affect shift delay but it did not. Fluid level is good, Fluid is still pinkish red, doesn't smell burnt, and does not have any grit to it.
Is this something that could get better with a fluid service or is it just time for a new transmission soon?
