Battery relocation - tray support?
For those of you who have flipped their battery sideways, any ideas on how to better support the battery tray? Theres a small wobble and I just have this vision in my head of hitting a bump in the road, causing the tray to break free and tumble down onto the road, exploding everywhere as all sorts of fuses blow and my car comes to a grinding halt.
Idk, maybe its a non issue. I know this mod is old as they come and I havnt seen anything about it breaking loose on anyone after all these years, but if anyone has ideas im all ears. The best I can think of is buying a 1/8 thick metal plate and cutting it to size, so that it holds up the battery tray and extends to where the old/unused bolts are at the original battery location. I would have to bend the plate since the area is not completely flat, or add a spacer of sorts. I think it would work fine but I cant imagine it not looking like crap.
Any other ideas? Surely someone else has noticed how precarious the battery sits when you flip it around and did something to stabilize it more.

I tried making a better bracket, but I suck at welding, so mines been the way it is for 3 years already.
I was most concerned with the battery rubbing against the rad hose, but there's a wear guard on the elbow there too so it's really been a non-issue.

Did you happen to notice any play in the existing “brace” the relocated tray gets perched on? Perfectly reasonable for the tray to have some wiggle since its basically sheet metal, but i noticed the brace has a tiny bit of movement to it as well if i push down on the battery. Im concerned about that weld breaking more than anything. Maybe its non issue but I just cant shake this feeling that its a problem waiting to happen lol.
