Totally happy now!

I love my I35...but the only complaint that I had was the POS subwoofer in the rear deck. BUT NOW! I disconnected that bad boy and dropped in my 10" from my '98 max! Now I am happy! No rattles...crisp clear bass! Share my happiness I said!

That looks like 35% not 20% I have 20% and it is darker than the tint on that I30.

Thats one thing I really like about my max is the bass. Sounds much better than most other cars stock setups. Is the subwoofer in the max as easy to swap with an aftermarket one as just replacing it? Or will it not match right with the BOSE setup?

I'm guessing it is harder to swap the bose sub for another sub our subs are more compact than other subs putting out the same amount of base, according to Nissan's Maxima brochures and nissandriven.com

also I think I remember reading that it's a woofer and not a sub-woofer. Anyone confirm that?

What is the difference never heard sub-woofer seperatly. Maybe people saying "sub" as being a shorter version of "sub-woofer"

I did not actually take out the sub...I disconnected it, tapped the signal with a converter, hooked up my MTX amp and sub...Sounds good! Adapter was $20 from Circuit City.

I talked to Bose and Nissan on this, the whole unit (Headunit, tweats, subs, amps, and 4 door spkrs) have to be reaplace b/c most aftermarkets run @ 4 ohms, and Bose runs @ 6 ohms.
