I ended up picking up a 2014 engine with 102,000 miles for a little under $1,200. free shipping and no core charge, only issue is that it came from a wrecked car and the front valve cover was cracked . the fuel rail is also bent where the fuel line connects, I guess someone had a hard time getting it off than decided to remove it at the firewall.
I was wondering if I can use the 150 amp 8th gen alternator (2019 and newer) if I change the alternator pulley to a 5th gen pulley? my 2014 engine came with it's upper alternator bracket intact. I put this 95 alternator that I have laying around on to the block just to see how much off the bracket hole is. I have the Nisformance kit on the way. I have a used G37 150 amp alternator on the way that I found for $40 shipped that I am going to test fit also.
I plan to return the Duralast Gold alternator that I have on the car now, so far I have had 3 incidents with alternator pulleys coming off...

I don't know why they put them on so tight from the factory. 150 ft lbs is the most I ever torque them to and they never come off.
They didn't. It's the rust. You'd be surprised how much force rust can hold on that little lip from bolt to pulley.
Big boy 1/2" impact time. Also, soaking it in penetrating oil works. Couldn't impact (back in the day with lower power stuff) or starter bump one before, but I let it soak overnight and it spun off no problem the next day.

I got it off.
I jammed a 3/8 extension into the crank pulley and was able to jam it on a part of the oil pan (the 7th gen oil pan that won't be needed for the swap) than hit it with a breaker bar and long pipe...
any tips on alternator pulley removal?
