Trunk lid...how far does it open?

I thought I saw something a while back, but could not find it with search.

Are Max and I30 trunk lids supposed to pop all the way open with the key fob or just unlatch and lay there? Called an Infiniti parts counter and they say it just unlocks...not raises the lid. I vaguely remember some discussion about rear wing weight, but lost track of the thread after that.

Any input gang?

Thanks!

The trunk on my I30 pops up about 45 degrees of its 90 degree full open angle. Its normal...

The discussion concluded that the I30 uses better springs which have enough strength to lift the trunk and spoiler, while the Maxima will not open fully with the spoiler...however, generally will w/o the spoiler.

My new GLE would only unlatch. It did not pop up at all, but the lid would hold its position anywhere that you positioned it to.
When I had my SE spoiler installed, it still only unlatched but would not hold position. It just fell back down and locked. The dealer then installed SE springs and now it acts like it did before the spoiler.
