2002 maximas have the antenna built into the rear windshield glass, weather can hurt the reception as well...i'm impressed your stock radio still works. also FM/AM radio is a dying medium... and I am not opening that attachment. welcome back to the forum.

I agree, with the thousands of songs I've downloaded over the years I don't even know what stations play what anymore. the hot hip hop station when I was a teen was 101.9 and now it's a rock station lol. the radio I have now doesn't even have a CD player, just bluetooth, USB, 3.5mm audio jack , and radio stations.... oh yeah and some weblink that I don't use...

thanks.
sometimes radio plays excellent. I removed antenna and noticed that antenna connection is good. So may be power booster to the antenna is bad. or some thing in between antenna and HU. Do not know how to access those areas and where they are located.

i am pretty sure you may be a bot, unless you tell me how you checked the antenna. because I know of said antenna... and I would bet you did not "check the antenna"

You shouldn’t be listening to you radio anyway … you should be listening to your car.

window tint can have an effect on antenna reception. The cars are known for not good reception due to a window antenna so the amplifier is probably ok.

when you hook up a new stereo there is a wire on the adapter harness you need to hook up similar to a power antenna wire. for years I had bad or almost no reception. with the last radio I installed a few years ago I hooked up what appeared to be a power antenna wire on the harness and now my stations work..
