wheel bearing fail.

Just wanted to post, that when i tried to press the front hub into the bearings
it ripped the backside of the bearing out like a prolapsed *******.

Two times.. One with a press and the other I tapped in, lubed up.
I went to autozone and bought their bearings w/ hub lets see if it
doesn't press out the back again. idk what to do. just venting. :P

when pressing the hub in you need to support the inner race of the bearing

I always take the steering knuckle to a machine shop and have them do it.

don't over tighten the axle nut either, it can cause premature bearing wear.. the nissan service manual says 188-245 ft lbs but i just torque it to 150 ft lbs with anti seize on the threads..

and used this little screw press thing to back the race.
i was so defeated Makes me not want to work on cars anymore.

Press in wheel bearings are nothing new. The only problem here was the incorrect repair procedure.

Cheaper parts, I guess. RWD platform is nice, b/c they bolt in. They're so easy to change.

Ya it's completely my fault for not thinking about backing the race.
The cars 23 years old so... Hope the autozone bearings last half that.

The car sounded like a skateboard riding on asphalt. loud af.
now it's so nice i should of done this a month ago.

Also btw i recently replaced my only duralast coil i used as an emergancy
it lasted 8 years. Autozone **** is throw away parts for homeless ppl.
