VIAS solenoid

I realized deleting the VIAS on my 2nd gen swap was a mistake after coming across a post in the 7th gen forums with dynoed results from NWP so I picked up used UIM for $60 shipped and a new solenoid valve since the OEM one on mine was broken.

I noticed that the black piece on the metal side is a cap that covers a port that blows through to one of the other ports.

I'm wondering if I can avoid using a vacuum T and run one of the two VIAS valves off the metal side of the solenoid?

does the solenoid fully open flow or switches ports when powered? I haven't powered it up and checked yet..
