It will probley cost what a kit will 3500-4000. there good they own the fastest talon in the land (8sec quarters) while your in the area Go over to NRH and talk to Rob there and tell him you want the tranny beefed up.

Oh I know them. I know Jack up there. Yes, if it can be done, they are the ones. They specialize in DSM, but I might make a run up there and see what they might be able to put together.

NRH?? What might they do for my tranny? I know I need a Clutch. Is there something else?

Yeah there pretty good. My friend had his talon done by them. So I asked if they would do mine and sure enough they would, they just want to make money, they said they did some work on another max and would work on mine.

If your gonna do a s/c, you should put the power to the ground good, so you will need a clutch, flywheel, and a short shift kit, for the tranny. It's not that you have to go there. But Rob at NRH has done so much to mine and knows so many effective things to do at least if your gonna be in the area it's worth talking to him to see what else he suggest doing, if anything.

All needs to be custom made though... which means bling bling.

Didn't Turbo95Max have custom internals done already? If so, maybe that'd help bring the price down.

Yes, but he isn't going to let the place release the info without some compensation. I'm not sure what parts are compatible between 4th and 5th gens.

When are you going to start hounding JWT to make you some cams. If you and some of the other SC Maximas got together you might be able to convince them to R&D them. They NEED to start producing more NISSAN parts, since they are pretty much dedicated to NISSAN performance market. I've seen Magazine project cars get custom ground cams from them, but who knows what they'd cost.

I bet the stock ECU will take a medium cam, but a wilder one would need a SECU.

Once you get the intercooler and up the boost, your not making 100% use of the extra air without more aggressive cams.

It would be nice to have them make aggressive cams for us, but there enough interest from the .orgy to influence JWT. If someone was willing to spend the overhead in R&D cost, then maybe there might be a chance.

Lets get everybody together and see if we can get them to make some internals for us. Whata think? It can't hurt to have us guys with alot of boost and other mods to try to request new parts, we just need more of us.

Talk to Cattman! Or actually next time I talk to him I will put a birdie in his ear. I'm pretty good at convincing him why he should persue what parts. I'm pretty sure he'd sell more cams than his gen2 coilover kits.

He is in with JWT and knows who to talk to. If you can get him and custommaxima on your side with 5-10 SC owners ready to buy, then it's worth a shot.

Just need donor cams.

Thanks Alex. It will be hard to get 5-10 5th gen SC owners since our cams are different than the 4th gens'.

It's a pain to swap just the cams (lots of work), so it would be easier to do everything at once (pisons, rings, valvesprings, etc.) since the car is in piece anyways.

Yup, do it all at once.

IMHO $1000 for rods is kinda pricey... I think cryo treating stock rods may be a good alternative. The biggest problem with a high boost max is the open deck and head gasket. If you can keep detonation under control the rods should hold, IMHO. But the factory head gasket needs to go, and the block needs some type of block guard installed to close the open deck. From what Ive seen on Matthels motor, the O-ring procedure is questionable as far as reliability goes. I am 99% sure that rod length is the same in the DE and DEK motors so they are interchangable. I also bet that after market cams would fit into both generation's heads with little problems. So these parts would work on seven years of maxima's. Thats allot!

Doesn't ForceFed suposidly have a thicker headgasket that'll bring the compression down to 9:1 or 9.5:1?

Did you buy the used SC from Avalon?

If so, just wondering if Paul gave you any kind of warantee or told you how much mileage was on it.

Thanks.
