Fixed Stalling Issue - I Think

My car stalled 3 times within 2 weeks while it was moving and always when it was slowing down. It had no codes. I suspected that it was either bad cam or crankshaft sensors.

I replaced both Camshaft Sensors and test drove it. But it stalled again. Same thing while the car was slowing down at a stop sign.

Then I replaced the crankshaft sensor. Voila. No more stalling. Fingers crossed. It has been over 50 miles now.

Any idea why a bad crankshaft sensor will cause a moving car to stall? Just trying to learn the cause of it.

It is kind of dangerous to have the engine stalling when the car is moving. Someone could have rear ended me.

Good catch, hopefully that fixes it.

My 97 SE auto was stalling as well when coming to a stop and I fixed it by adding an additional ground wire to the MAF sensor ground wire. This fixed it for good.

when my 02 Maxima started stalling it was the camshaft sensors. the o rings on them had oil seepage and the oil got to the connectors.

The sensors weren't made correctly and oil get inside the cam sensors and shorts them out.
As for crank...idk.
