Oil seal

I've had this slight oil leak on my 2002 Maxima about 10 years or so. Never a big issue. However it's getting worst. I had a mechanic shop check for location. They claim it's the Rear Main Seal. They want "Big Bucks" to fix.

Does any one know what a P.I.T.A. it is to fix?

its the upper oil pan seal. takes 2-3 hours for a competent tech. book time is 5.2 hours so expect to pay about that much.

i have NEVER seen an oe rear main leak on a VQ.

But if you're changing the half moon seals...might as well.

I don't replace the half moons. That costs money lol. More RTV. They're already shrunk, which means they can't shrink and leak again XD
