WTB 02 stick socket/harness for oem hid bulb to ballast

Hello everyone. I am trying to locate a stock socket and harness for my passenger side HID bulb.

I believe this runs to the ballast, because I have traced the entire harness. My socket is damaged and no longer connecting fully. I have seen several aftermarket conversion pieces and I’m trying to find the right part to replace my old one.

Maxine has 323,000 miles, and I really want to get the right part in there if anyone can help.

Thanks in advance!

My kids grew up with this car. They are now 20, 15, and 16, respectively.

from what I see online, Nissan only sells the wiring with a new headlamp assembly. if you looking to buy it used it's pretty pricey compared to going to an aftermarket HID ballast. I've been running a 35 watt 4300K DDM Tuning kit since 2014 and it was a way better alternative. all their kits also come with lifetime warranty.

is this what you need?

Thank you.

I appreciate that very much. However, I do not want to go aftermarket if I can avoid it. If someone just has a broken headlight housing, laying around, I just need that one plug so I can keep it stock. Otherwise, I’m going to grab just a replacement pigtail with the the socket I need.

I don’t want to change a factory ballast when the only problem is the socket that twists onto the bulb. It is broken in one section after all these miles.

My search for a low beam harness continues.

Thank you for posting this diagram. I had looked at it before, but I did not notice. The harness is not listed as a separate part. I believe it is intentionally designed to be a part of the housing that cannot be easily removed.

It looks like my best route at this time is to carefully splice on a new socket to the harness. I simply do not have the money to buy a whole new housing for a socket that’s missing a notch from old age.

Thank you so much for your time and help.

WTB affordable HID passenger light housing

If anyone does have a passenger light housing for a 2002 maxima SE, that would be amazing. I don’t need the ballast or anything else, because everything is functioning correctly.

The only problem I have is that the notch on one of the corners of the socket to attach to the plug is broken. It will not maintain a tight connection and sometimes flickers over bumps. I am very confident in my ballast and other items are just fine.

This problem cropped up immediately after the piece of the socket broke when I was replacing the last bulb.

go to your local junkyard and get a headlight? they take about 30 seconds to remove.

Thank you

I appreciate the advice.

It’s not that easy for me unfortunately. I live in a small town and there are no Maximas of any generation within 100 miles of me.

I’m a single father of three teens. It’s not too easy for me to get away to a place like that without a lot of planning and possibly time off of work.

That’s why I’m here. 😊

www.car-part.com is a portal to most of the auto salvage yards in North America. Also just because Nissan doesn't list it as a separate part doesn't mean it won't just be something that can be easily plugged/unplugged..

which part is it on that diagram?

this bit?

Thank you.

Much appreciated, westdude.

I cannot find the harness on the diagram, but I have a very similar harness to the photo you sent me. I’ve attached two photos to show you what I need. I see the same color purple

wire going into the ballast on your unit. Mine is just a bit different.

I see a green and purple wire going to the socket to my HID bulb. However, I cannot find this part separate on the diagram.

The parts portal is great!

I really appreciate you sharing the parts portal. I found a place in Illinois. That has the entire housing, which will be very affordable for me. I’m going to pull the trigger, because it is an 03SE and I am almost positive it has HID set up just like mine.

Thank you, man. You are a lifesaver!

I have a whole housing on the way for my Max, so I’ll even get better lenses out of the deal. Your advice on this database will be used a lot by us both!

Thank you!

I really appreciate that! They are such wonderful kids and I am truly blessed. My youngest son is as big of a Nissan fanatic as I am!

He has big plans to turbocharge his car and make it just like the race car Paul Newman drove.
