Sorry but that's incorrect! The H3's with the power tail have a different plug than the H3C's. The H3C's have 2 small pins on the end they will not work on the OEM 3rd Gen foglights! Now as for an HID bulb the foglight assy is to shallow due to the HID bulb being longer than the halogen H3. I measured it when I installed HID H3's in my 5.5 Gen. I'll see if I can find the dimensions for you and reply later ok......

yeah that's the smallest HID bulb I've seen in H3' it will work as a HiD for sure , since the housing on the 3rd gen are so shallow!

Well, that is in HID form, so yes it will have 2 leads not 2 pins as the halogen bulb has. I stated that the halogen H3C could not be used on an OEM 3rd gen due to the harness difference when compared to a halogen H3.....but the HID's are a goer!!!!

If you're going the HID route...you can hit the junkyard for two 3rd gen connectors from the foglight harness to the chassis harness and use those for your HID so you can be plug N play! I never chop up my vehicle's wiring harness cause when you sell it; Or try to sell it you don't want the buyer being hesitant or worried about getting some chopped P.O.S. with all kinds of wiring gremlins. I was able to use my original( damaged) 5.5 gen foglight harness connectors on my 5.5 gen when I converted my fogs to HID! I solder spliced/heat shrinked the connector to the HID harness so I can be plug-N-play, still maintain it's weather proof OEM design, and perform maintenance quickly-N-hassle free (bulb change, etc...)...good luck...matching headlights and fogs are sexy!!!!

well im not letting my 3rd gen go until it dies, so i guess i would save the hassel on finding another 3rd gen with fogs, thanks for the advice though
