Factory 15" steel wheel weighs in at

These values were measured with my electronic bathroom scale.

Factory steel wheel + tire = 40 lbs.
Konig Tantrum 17x8 + Kuhmo 235/45/17 = 46 lbs.

all right!!! you is da man! thank you. Comes out steelies are about 15 lbs each...doesnt make any sense to get OEM 16" or 17" cause they are heavy.

BTW I think I am ready to trade up. If anyone interested in downgrading their wheel/tire combo and wants to come out with cash, please let me know. I want to do a direct swap, since I have no other wheels.

looks like i'll be going the route of comfort and straight line performance. i've been wanting to get new wheels, but in light of all these weight related revelations, i'm leaning towards a 16" setup. don't know for sure tho. but i think moving to a 16" lightweight rim would be a nice boost to my heavy oem 17s. any thoughts???

yes indeed, just dont move to OEM 16's because the difference is insignificant. As I posted above, I want to upgrade from my 15"s, so let me know if interested.
