berk tuning intake, or any other manufacturers out there..

question for berk tech, franken, or anyone else.

after i installed my intake last night, i noticed that the stock airbox also functions as physical support for not only the airscoop, but also that whole assembly thing that the MAF assembly is attached to. without the stock airbox, the whole thing seems to wiggle quite a bit. the bracket with berk's seems to help a little with support, but there's still definitely movement there.
i assume that owners of stillen, franken, and jwt intakes have noticed this before too. any word on a simple bracket that could replace the support that the stock airbox provided? it could screw onto the boltholes left behind by the airbox at 1) on the driver's side of the engine bay up high and towards the front 2) the fifth bolthole by the bottom of the battery in front of where the stock airbox was and 3) to the assembly itself where the stock airbox attached.
a sturdy splined aluminum or steel brace would work nicely. and i'm sure owner's of any intake would invest in one.

It seems to me that the bracket shipped with the Berk intake takes care of this. Do you have the Berk and still the wiggle?

same with me, i recently installed the berk intake, the bracket keeps the cone from moving around. very nice design.

i've got the berk. the bracket definitely helps with stabilizing the intake. i'm very happy with it. but what i'm talking about is movement of what the maf assembly attaches to. there's still movement there.

btw, today was my first full day with the intake in and i LOVE IT. thanks bryan.

With the bracketing system that I worked out there is more than adequate support for the intake system. It doesn't need to be a rigid assembly.

Those who already have one of the intakes and already like it

That's likely because the tubing after the MAF and resonator box is accordian style rubber tubing...that thing moved when the stock airbox was in their...maybe a little bit less since the stock airbox was locked into place, but not much.
