Adco Rear Sway Bar....

I got mine put on today, but I don't understand what all the hype is about. There isn't anything drastic about this mod that makes it feel a lot different. I feel subtle differences, but I still notice the rear end "bending." Any advice or comments would greatly be accepted.

add on RSB

Just my opinion, but most suspension modifications are going to be hard to discern without really pushing on a car. Given that most people don't do a blind test (or have the resources to do such) it makes quantifying these changes even more difficult. I'm not saying that an after market RSB is useless (indeed I'm waiting on mine to arrive). It is easy to prove mechanically the impact of an additional RSB. I'm only saying that unless you run a lot of slalom courses, with a lot of weight in the car, it will be hard to "feel" a difference.

Its makes a huge difference...maybe your RSB fell off ... check
Hogan id run you any day (doesn't mean Id win, but still) With this mod, you have to drive faster to feel it? Cause I was coming back from the shop going around this turn, (not that fast) and it didn't help that much.

Depends where you started from. Adding the Stillen RSB to my GLE was very noticeable, even at lower speeds like turning a corner around town. It was enormously different in higher-speed cornering.

I'm not familiar with the stock rear-end suspension on your car.

I notcied a big difference with my RSB. The rear stays flatter around turns. Less body roll too. To test it, take it off take a turn as fast as you can (tires squeling a little) and see how much faster you can take it with the RSB on. That should help.

When u take a slower turn, can you feel it less than when you take a faster turn?

I just put the Addco on this weekend, and i notice a big difference, if your car is lowered you should feel the car not as bouncy, almost back to stock, cornering if you take corners quickly, not slow you for sure feel the difference.
I like it. Bernie

Hey burton...

Everyone I know (including myself) noticed a huge difference after installing the RSB.. I've done installs for 3 maximas already and the only thing they complain about is that they've gotten used to it.... Next time we meet, let me ride in your car or something... Perhaps you didn't tighten the bolts enough or something... I dunno...

make that 2 if you included my rsb install in there... i remember someone handing me the tools and telling me what to do... then everyone just watched as i was under the car suffering...

but after that i was riping through the turns at clee's house... man that was so fun... now yes... i am used to it.

RSB made a difference

When I installed it on my SE, I took the same ramp as fast as the crappy stock tires would allow. The RSB keeps the car planted, I can't wait to get it lowered.

best of luck,
JCR

i installed my addco rsb about three months ago and it feels great!

i noticed a big difference right from the start......you should feel
a drastic improvement whether you're taking turns at high speeds or just normal speeds.

Yes. You feel it when taking turns at higher speeds.

Which one?

So after all this RSB talk which one would you guys personally recommend, Add. or Stillen. Does anyone know the price difference. i kind of want to do front and rear at same time this weekend, so i need to purchase it like now.
And when you guys take on corners at higher speeds, for example around 70-80 and majority of most turns run around 110- 120 degrees(compared on a protractor) with this installed will it cause the back wheel to spinout? and i have still have the stock 17" se rims.

thanks a lot guys

BIG difference, but you can't reasonably expect to feel it unless you push the car around turns. You will feel that the motion of the car is much "flatter" and "rolls" much less. I installed the Addco about 4 months ago. However I have not been able to figure out why I hear a loud thump when I hit hard bumps. I have checked very piece of hardware but it still happens once in awhile, especially when I have weight in the back seat.

I felt absolutely no difference when I installed the RSB, FSTB, springs. Oh well. But like you said I hear that thump as well. What's causing it??? Anyone? It's very annoying.

Hey i'm looking to purchase one of these, i was actually on the custommaxima site ordering, but the page where the credit card information is messed, it keeps reading an error on my house address, and billing address.
Any idea where i can buy one in the next couple of hours.
Right now is 2/14 2:04 pm Eastern New York Time.

Appreciate the time and help.

I purchased my bar from Greg at Custommaxima.com. The ADDCO is a solid bar and I believe the Stillen is a hollow bar (from what I've read). The gold finish/plating is tough and will stand up to most under carriage mishaps. Plus this color matches my Sunlit Sand. It's awsome when viewed from behind.

My only complaint is the mounting hardware U bolts. I had to purchase a tap and die set to clean up the bolts. I've called up ADDCO and they are sending a new set out to me.

Here are some picts of my install.

On light turns, I do not notice much difference. On hard cornering, especially when accelerating out of turns, I can feel the bar plant and seat the lifting rear end. Just so cool.

Buy your bar from Greg if you go with ADDCO.
