Anniversary Edition Door Sills?

Just got a new 2002 SE 6 speed and love the look of the Anniversary Edition Door Sills. Has anyone ever put those into your non-AE Maxima? I saw them for sale at the Courtesy Nissan Parts dept. Does anyone know how hard it would be to put the new ones in myself??

Here's the link to the Courtesy Nissan site

They are probably the easiest mod that you can do. It literally takes about 5 min to replace all four of them. I have them on my car, but unfortunately I don't have any pics of them. A lot of other people have pics of them though, so don't worry. All you have to do is pull up on the old ones and snap in the new ones. No bolts, screws or whatever. Ask Dave Burnette to hook you up at Town North. I know that there's a Nissan Parts website too, but I don't know the URL for it.

Just rip em out! Since you don't need them anymore, it really doesn't matter how you take them out. If you want to do it the right way, there should be two flat notches on each of the door sills. Perhaps the easiest way to understand what I'm saying is to look at the new door sills and "reverse engineer".

they are sweet

You should get them, you can get them from either Courtesy or Custommaxima. They will run you between $55-$70.

Wise Mod!!

While you are at it, take time to clean the area under the kickplate and apply some wax, don't wipe it off. It will help keep humidity from accumulating under there and doing the molecular lambada with the steel.

I bought Russ's old AE sills and shifter **** for my 2k1 5sp GXE, and they give even a bone stock Max the RIGHT touch of...how do you say..."bling bling"...

The rear sills have two "snap" mounting points, while the fronts have three. I stuck a screwdriver wrapped in a rag under each recess in the stock sills and *Popped* them out...the new AE sills just snap right in. Truly a 5-minute mod, and I would DEFINITELY recommend wiping the area down. I sprayed a light coating of WD-40 instead of wax to the area under the sills, but wax is a good cover-all as well.
