Coils and plugs replaced........................

I'm having new ignition coils and spark plugs installed on my Max on friday. My car was assembled on Jan 00 and i heard with the 2K year Maxima the ignition coils dont last to long so i'm having it replaced. I have 32000 miles so i'll keep ya posted if i notice a difference!

Sources seem to indicate that you'll notice the difference. Enjoy

What is the reason behind this replacement?
defect or recall or there is a TSB out for it?
I have 26k on my y2k and shall I be worry about it?

Thank you

I say if it isn't broke don't fix it. I had one coil die at 11k miles on my 2k SE.
Unless there is a TSB, why replace good parts?

I was told the common signs of a bad coil is a pinging noise or if your car is riding rough. My car fits both criterias so that is why i'm replacing all of them. Also heard if your car was assembled in early 2000 (my car was 1/00), then it is subject to bad coils. The noises began when i had my stillen intake installed, i took it out and the noises are still there. With all these variables present, i think it is worth to change the coils in my car.

If proven that the 2K maximas have bad coils, shouldn't this be considered as a defect or recall??!!

yeah, but it would take a lot of failures probably... most people would not notice the performance difference to complain
