Just Killed an Outback......

......It's not really a big deal to you Mod'ers with 300hp, but I just killed a Subaru Outback. We were at a stop light about a 1/4 mile from were I had to make a right hand turn - of course I was in the fast lane. When the light turned green I punched it, and so did he. I'm thinking this A-Hole isn't going to let me over - so off we went.

I have an Automagic SE so I don't really have the luxury of maxing out the gears, but this guy didn't. He kept up until he went from 2nd to "cough" to 3rd - then I pulled away.

I just walked in the office with a grin on my face - what a way to start off a Monday. Presidents day of all days.

hey man nice kill, but those outbacks are 4 cylinders and have like 167 hp. They run 0-60 in the 11's. Im glad you beat him, otherwise there would be something majorly wrong with your car.

Hoorah put a check down in the win column for the automatic Maxima's. Take this Outback.

He seemed like he had some power for a "four banger"? If you had a car like that, why would you even try?

Well it depends if he raced a 2000 or 2002 Outback and if it was a wagon or not. If it was wagon then yes you should have won easily, but now it was a 2k2 that's a different story. The 2k2 has V6 w/210hp and in sedan form should do 0-60 in around 8 sec flat. At least I know my Aunt's Outback is pretty quick, not Maxima quick, but quick none the less.

Its not a v6 its an h6 (horizontally opposed) all subie engines are of the "boxer" type.

I had ever heard of that kind of engine before, but after looking on motor trend.com your right. So it look's like I stand corrected. My bad.

These cars are more torque oriented than speed oriented.... You dont need speed in 6 inches of mud!!!!!

No biggie... I'm a big Subie fan. It's one of their big selling points. They like to tout the fact that the only other car mfr making boxer engines is Porsche.

If we were in the mud or if it was snowing out he probably would have beat me. Those potenzas don't like to stick in any weather, which in turn makes my traction control kick in.
