Concerning car trade-in

Let's say someone wants to trade-in their 2000 nissan maxima SE for a 2002 nissan maxima SE. How much extra cash would that person approximately have to pay?

How many miles are on the car? What condition is the car in? Try www.kbb.com to get a approximation of what your car is worth.

There are way too many variables for that type of general question...

Such as:

remaining loan on 2000
price of 2002 (including options)
original price of 2000
down payment you were going to pay anyway

and so on, and so on, and so on...

Just FYI

Local dealers offer me $10k-11k for my 2000 GXE...
With average mi's you might get $13k or so...
So figure on adding at least another $15k minimum for that 2002.

I was offered 16k with 32k the odometer on my 2000 maxima se, from a local nissan dealership. It felt like a slap in the face hearing my car was only worth that much.

Sell it yourself and go to the dealer with cash instead of financing it all. You should get more for your old Max and maybe have more leverage with dealer. IMO
