Should I replace the stock head unit ?

I have a non-bose head unit, so far, I've replaced the stock speakers with Eclipse speakers. The difference is a lot, the stock speakers were just junk.
I know this stereo is made by Clarion and I was looking to replace it for a Clarion Pro Audio AXZ610. Do you think I will get a better sound quality? Finally both stereos are manufactured by the same company.
Also I'd like to know your opinion about the Eclipse Head Units. How do you compare units from Clarion and Eclipse ?

Any feedback it's really appreciated.

Haven't heard anything about Eclipse HUs b4.. They're usually well known for speakers and amps etc... But any aftermarket HU is better than stock.. Go for it an if you don't like, just sell it...

Eclipse head units are among the best in aftermarket units. However, they are among the most expensive out there. I beleive anything aftermarket will be better than our stock Bose units. The only problem that I have is, replacing all speaker components as well as an amp and cdp will set you back over 2 grand(ouch!). I beleive that i logged on to www.usacaraudio.com and they had good prices on Eclipse units.

Talk to MaximaDave. He works for a Tweeter store and can also get you killer prices with full warranties.

I agree about the quality of Eclipse but what I don't like is you have to buy from an Authorized Dealer, what it means you have to pay MRSP prices. These products cannot be purchased over Internet, if someone is selling them it is against Eclipse and you will not get the manufacture's warranty.

I got my speakers thanks to MaximaDave, he works for Tweeter (Authorized Dealer) and his prices are just great, I saved 80 bucks on two pairs of speakers.

Unfortunately for me, I'm looking for a unit with tape and Maximadave cannot get it, he only has units with CD, the prices are great though.

you may also want to look into getting a player with mp3 capabilities. one disc with 160+ songs is like havin a cd changer... without the cd changer
plus now more brands have an mp3 player line
