Any Apexi Rev/Speed Meter owners?

Hello there,
I was wonder for you guys that own a Rev/Speed Meter by APEXi, does it really eliminates your speed limiter? Also, how much did you pay to get he whole thing installed? Did you also buy the mounting bracket as well as the G sensor? and where did you mount the Meter?

My friend has the 2nd gen RSM, and we installed it on his 98 GXE, so installtion was free. Yes, it does eliminate the speed limiter. If you want the 3rd gen RSM (the blue one)--which it sounds like you are looking for--talk to Kevin..he has it. I'm waiting to see if they're gonna come out with a US model that reads in mph instead of kmph

Yes it does.

I installed it.

Didn't get the bracket, but got the G-sensor.

hmmmm how much did you pay for it(Gsensor and RSM)? do you need to get it professionally installed? Hmmm how did you manage to mount it? double sided tape? Will people break in to steal that?

http://www.rev-industries.com/apexih...speedmeter.htm If you know what you're doing then you can install it. 3M velcro. Maybe, depends on your neighborhood.

That's the third gen one, the latest one, but it doesn't read in miles per hour. It reads in km per hour. I don't know if you care or not, but just a little FYI.

I have a 2nd Gen RSM, it reads in MPH, not KMPH. There are 2 versions of the RSM.

You have the blue one that reads in MPH? I was told that they don't read in MPH yet. Only the older red ones read in MPH. Hmm, if the blue ones read in MPH, it might be worth looking into.

so what does the 1st gen RSM look like? I've seen the previous model before the current one and thought that was the 1st gen model.

Was there anything you had to set on the RSM unit itself to set the speed limiter cut off?

Nope, the default setting cuts the limiter.
