Removing black paint from badges

Has anyone found an easy way to remove the black paint from the "Maxima" and "SE" badges on the trunk lid. I have a black SE and I think the badges would look better if they were chrome since you can't even see them the way they are. It looks like they just painted the regular chrome badges that come on the non-SE models but I don't know if they will look good if I strip the paint off of them.

Is there any easy way to remove the badges to make this easier to do. I looked briefly at the back of the trunk lid and doesn't look like there is an easy way to get to the back of these things.

Any advice would be appreciated!

if u can remove the badge, a little acetone works wonders in paint removing department... just dont splash any on ur car, it'll eat thru the paint like a knife through butter

Come on guys! Surely somebody out there has tried to do this.

I'm just now getting interested in "modding" my car and don't have much technical knowledge when it comes to mechanics so I am trying to start with small projects that make my max a little less "stock looking" and hopefully work my way up to some bigger mods.

just take the badges off and order the 2k2 "MAXIMA" and "SE" as they are chrome and your set--get DaveB's # from the Parts List

uhm... i think you should get some clear side markers instead... that makes you rmax stand out from the "stock" ones, rather than just a chrome "maxima" emblem.
