some ppl did that before...but I think it is pointless b/c they didnt considered how well the car's tuned and how good the driver is....and also what kinda race that the cars were involved.

Have you seen the video where the McLaren F1 beats the Blitz Supra? Ehehehe. I like the Supra too, but honestly it weighs too much.

I was racing one of my friends with a 99 Maxima SE 5sp. (Y-pipe, full cat back, cold air, pulley, and other mods), we were dead even to 110 and I finally started pulling away a little bit to 130, that car was surprisingly fast (14.7 1/4)

haven't really raced but a sc300 (maybe a 2000) tried to pass me to the on ramp, but no luck though. i didn't know he was going for the pass until he reved up the engine a sec after the light turned green.

When I raced the sc400 I dint know it was it I thought it was sc300 cause they look alike but when we stopped on the next light i looked adn it was an sc400, I alwayst thought that those cars were faster, I had him 1.5 cars up to 95mph.

SC400 has 290HP\290TQ, but it weighs 3655 and is only available as a 5-speed automatic.

SC300 is a lot weaker at 225HP\214TQ and weighs 3560 and only has a 4-speed automatic.

Not sure about any variations, but SC's are beatable.

The new SC430 has 300HP, but weighs 3900+ pounds and is only available as an auto, so a 2K2 should be able to beat it.

Whats with all the " Free to be you and me, hug a tree " Org members smaking this thread ! If you dont like street racing, why bother being on this board or upgrading your max ?? Why do you buy NOS, or Exhaust, Pulleys ....etc... ?? To look nice. There is a difference between Bad Driving, and just stepping on it off a red light ! I know a lot of you are in denial, but go and BASH any thread that relates to a KILL !

Since we are on the KILL thread, my 2 best were a
2K2 TL-S ( We were both STOCK at the time )
530i we gunned it at 65 mph.... I was waving bye bye till we hit 125MPH, I had 2 cars by that time.....

That's what racing tracks are for

The point is having "fun" on the street.

This board is more about car maintenance and tuning than street racing. I tune my car in order to get around town efficiently, but lawfully. I also like to learn how to maintain and take care of my car on my own. This forum is great for that.

How much fun do the think the 2 innocent people who died in Long Island the other day are having because of 2 kids drag racing a Vett and a Mercedes slammed head on to them?

The jeep was making a left, and turned right in front of them .In my option the jeep should have waited. The people in the jeep should estimated the speed a which the two cars were moving. They did not do this and it cost them there life.

Of course the people speeding were at fault in the end

It is not easy to judge the speed of the vehicle coming at you, especially if near dark which I do not know what time this happened. But to say THEY should have estimated the speed that they were coming at them is rediculis. Its like you are blaming the people who were not breaking the law for this accident. Was it at a stop light or stop sign?.

I got my first two kills last night, about five minutes apart. First was a regular Civic EX with exhaust. Poor riceboy didn't stand a chance...

Then I got next to a Blue Civic Si at a light. Took him pretty easily too. He had exhaust and sounded like an intake when he revved it.

I love to beat on these punks in modded Civics in my 100% bone stock Max. It's like taking candy from a baby. And the best part is that the don't ever notice the Max...they just nail the ricers.

I think there is a difference between having some "fun" versus being a complete idiot an re-enacting scenes from "The Fast and the Furious".

Many of us, myself included, are guilty of accelerating rapidly from a stop every once in a while in a little "red-light grand prix" to make a kill. Or briefly going 160 km/h on the highway in a friendly joust.

This doesn't mean I am doing drag races at 2:00 am down residential streets and hitting 200 km/h on roads with lots of intersections where a pedestrian or a car could come out at any second. I don't condone this and agree that this should be confined to the track.

But I don't see the harm in doing a little red light race now and then and brielfly exceeding the speed limit.

I see this as being much less risky than behaviour I see around me all the time. The guy driving with his cell phone scrunched between his shoulder and his cocked head. The lady applying lipstick while driving down the highway. The lady who thinks her 5000 lbs SUV is going to be able to stop as quickly as my 3000 lbs car. The idiot who was tailgating me so closely last week I couldn't see his headlights. I see these as all being much more dangerous than the ocaasional "kill".

Anyhow, my kill list:

Bonneville SSEi
Mustang 5.0 Cobra
Firebird Formula V8
Integra GSR (cosmetic mods, not sure if he had engine mods)
Dodge Ram V8
Audi A4 2.8 (yawn)

3 Acura 3.0 CL's
1 Acura TL
1 Acura TL-S w/intake and Exhaust
1 Acura Cl-S w/headers and intake (awesome race! )
At Least 5 Acura Integra's
Too Many BMW 3 Series
1 750iL (Best Race! )
2 Camaro's (1 Z28 Auto)
1 '80's Corvette Auto
1 Formula Firebird Auto
4 '94-'98 Mustang Gt's
3 Mustang 5.0's
20+ Riced out Civics
2 Preludes
5+ 4th Gen. Maxima's (Sorry Guys )
2 A4's
1 Passat chipped, intake, and exhaust
1 Cadilac Deville
2 SHO Taurus's
2 Civic Si's
2 Lexus SC400 (one modded)
1 CLK430
1 SLK320
1 S500 (late '90's)
3 Eclipse's (all turbo - 1 very modified)
1 240SX
1 VW Jetta 5-speed
1 Grand Prix GTP
2 Boxster's both 5-speeds
1 WRX (tied another one)
1 Camry V6 5-speed
3 Celica's all 6/5-speeds
2 Turbo Beetle's both 5-speeds
1 Volvo S80 T6

Probably more I just can't remember them all

Daniel

Don't take this the wrong way... but several of these cars have '02 Maximas *very* outclassed in terms of performance. The 6 speed Camaro, the "very modded" turbo Eclipse, the high-end Bimmers all should range from high 12's to high 13's (if the turbo Eclipse was done correctly, they can do 11's). Were these fair races or street races? IMO there are usually too many variables in street racing to ever call them accurate indicators of skill/performance.

Also, I didn't think Toyota paired the v6 with a 5 speed in the Camry... I thought 5-speeds were available only with the 4 banger.

Again, I'm not trying to start something... just curious.

They were, in the 97+ body style. It's a little known fact because they are pretty rare (only like 5000 of them made) but they are out there. A member of this board-gLok-has one.

BTW if you can remember all the cars you've beaten and list them, you haven't beaten alot of cars.

If you think your car is quick... try going to the track on a test and tune night, and you will find out very quickly that your Maxima is slow. I'm reminded of that fact every time I go to the track

...Very true, you run into guys with turbo chipped Audis etc. with quattro and they are running high 12's...

...But on the road, the Max is a monster. How many days in your life do you happen to pull up to a light right next to that above-mentioned Audi? Almost never... But you DO pull up to some ricer wanna-be that needs a humility lesson or a mustang that underestimates you... That is why a Max is so fun... The 'sleeper' surprise factor. And I agree, a 'red light' race rarely takes you more than 10-15 mph over the limit, unless you are a psycho. But those are more responsible than some azzhole that tailgates you at 6" because he thinks your car is 'in his way...'

Don't attack people for having fun in their cars, we all know (or at least should know) what is a fun fair little race and what is plain stupid.

More slow drivers not paying attention cause accidents than fast drivers who focus their attention and reflexes on the road because they take driving seriously. Take that statement to the bank.

on cornering......but not a good car for high ends.

ture it is yielding a lot of HP per liter...it has 652cc X 2 rotary and it is a 270 HP car....

1300cc gives 270 HP with TT....crazy output. But, the engine wears out real real quick. My cousin had one....engine died in 5 years.

How much fun do you think my co-worker had, when he knew the two kids racing, since they were 3 years old ?
How about parents ?

Does anyone ever think, about the comments people make ?

Just STFU about this f'n Mediaocracy, its old.

Its a tragic accident, so don't make it your motto, or your "cause" for a speech about WTF "Fun" is.

If you want to go all out, I invite you to EMAIL it to ME DIRECTLY or POST UP HERE.

Well at least your co worker STILL gets to know the 2 kids racing doesn't he or she because they are still lucky to be alive aren't they. How do you think the other family feels? How lucky are those family members? What if the people killed or were severly injured were family members or friends of yours. What would your attitude be then? Would you just chalk it off as kids having "fun", and you would OK with that.
This was not a tragic accident either it was a tragic irresponsible act of two kids who had no business driving these kinds of cars. What were the parents thinking to allow kids to drive cars this powerful? The first thing kids do is see how fast will go, I did it , you probably did it and who knows how many more did the same thing.
If medicracy and common sense are old then too bad the kids didn't have any because they would not have killed two people, ruining that familys members and probably their own lives in the long run and there parents lives. Don't You Think. If you don't like me being conservative then move on just like I will.

Think about what you are saying
Every time you make a left turn YOU MUST estimate the speed of on coming traffic
Have you every had to hit your brakes because someone tried to make a left in front of you. Some butt head in a hurry.
It was at a traffic light.IF they had waited like they should have they would be alive today. Of course the people speeding were also wrong

Dude, RU THE FAMILY, AND Y R U MAKING IT YOUR MISSION TO PREACH TO ME ABOUT SOME CRAP ???????

Yeah you should've moved on a long time ago, before you made your "conservative" comments...I am an "extremist" and there are others who are "sensible" enough to not mix "fun" w/ "stupidity", which U R Mixing.

-Peace.

Im not preaching to you or anyone else, so you shouldn't think that I am. Why do consider yourself an extremist? Just curious
I guess you did not figure out that they do mix, case in point these two kids were out having "fun" and it changed to "stupidity" in an instant and guess what, two people die from the stupidity part. The two kids racing had an opertunity to not have the stupidity part happen but failed to do it and now there are familes devestated by what happened.
Remember the fun part only stays fun when nothing goes wrong, and sometimes it turns to stupidity in an absolute heartbeat, just like what happened here. Are you telling me you have a choice of having fun or being stupid? I don't follow

OK. Go watch The Pike Video, know that was taken in my car doing 130mph or so ?

FUN IS FUN, STUPID IS STUPID...this is all about RESULTS from my point of view. Its a past event that resulted in a death, which I LABEL as STUPIDITY, NOT FUN. Don't get me wrong, but I only say "we had fun..." after its all said and done.
Even when rollerblading...crunch my nuts on a rail...I still say its fun...when I crashed into the wall in my 2K2...I was pist, but it was fun...wierd huh ?(I collected great insurance $$$ off the accident.)

See it from my side of the screen now ?
