Waxing the car

Hi people,
Just got my 2k2 Max 2 weeks ago. I am wondring should I wax the car often? or should I just wash it? My dad told me that new paints has micro holes in it, so i should fill it up with wax. But my friend said something about the clear coat on new cars so I shouldn't wax it at all. Can someone please tell me what to do? Thanks in advance.

WAXING

The Owner's Manual is your friend...

" WAXING
Regular waxing protects the paint surface and
helps retain new vehicle appearance. After
waxing, polishing is recommended to remove
built- up residue and to avoid a weathered
appearance.
If you wish to wax your vehicle, only use a wax
specified for use over clear coats, such as
Nissan Liquid or Spray Wax. Your Nissan
dealer can assist you in choosing the proper
product.
- Wax your vehicle only after a thorough
washing. Follow the instructions supplied
with the wax.
- Do not use a wax containing any abrasives,
cutting compounds or cleaners that may
damage the vehicle finish.
- If the surface does not polish easily, use a
road tar remover and wax again."

Your friend is wrong. Most recommended ones from what I have seen are Zaino, Klasse and Meguiars.

Congrats in your new purchase.
