Damn a tranny oil cooler for only $65??? Damn, that is a cheap investment for saving yourself from Tranny repair later.

Dario, was this hard to install? 1hr? 2hr job?

I would love to do this just for increased safety and pulling strain off the tranny.

Now we talking partner. Last question, how thick is it? and what the dimensions? The hoses and everything come with it?

ill get you that info tommorrow, ill PM you with all the info
the tranny cooler can withstand up too 250 HP, thats the application that i went with.

But if you want you can go higher ill get back to you

this is from there website

Why Perma-Cool® Performs Better
In an ordinary oil cooler, the oil flows straight through tubing without interruption. The oil nearest the wall of the tubing becomes "cool" and sluggish, while the oil near the center remains "hot" and thin. The cooler outer layer of oil serves as an insulation for the inner hotter oil and the thin, freely flowing oil at the center passes through the coil without the full advantage of heat exchange with the tubing. Simply stated, ordinary coolers are designed to get in their own way.

Perma-Cool® coolers incorporate the patented TurbulatorTM fins to "mix" the hotter and cooler oil with oversize tubing to insure ample oil flow. The result is a design that takes full advantage of heat exhange with the coil and prevents stalling of the oil flow while providing more of a temperature drop. This difference is important and it's only available from Perma-Cool®.

I'd be very interested if the group deal goes through. I'm still a wee bit concerned about cold weather driving with a tranny cooler as I'm not positive that the tranny fluid would get warm enough for optimum operation. Can someone give their thoughts on that? Other than that, the pluses far outweigh any negatives I can think of. Just wish there was some kind of bypass ( ala a thermostat) that would not send the fluid to the external cooler until a certain temp was reached....My email is srbarnes@lexmark.com; thanks in advance Dario.

detail on bypass valve

temp below 180 and 90% of fluid is bypassed only letting 10% through to the cooler to prevent air pockets

temp above 180 and the valve will fully open and bypass 95% of the fluid through the cooler

Prices

Solo
Cooler $65
Bypass Valve $66

Group (7 or more on each)
Cooler $55
Bypass Valve $59

PM me if interested

I might be interested in purchasing as well, if I had a SC and Nitro later will I have any problems with this cooler?

Also, what warranties will be voided when installing?

well this application is only good for 250 hp once you get SC and NOS u may want to consider the a step higher which would be good until 450hp as far as voiding any warranties you may void ur tranny, u may want to ask ur dealer before u decide

yes sir u are right, but did you know that you could use this cooler for engine oil as well, my dealer told you could use them for both engine oil or tranny oil, and if any 2k2(auto) are interested let me know, same application.

the 2k2 can use the 250 app engine/tranny oil cooler for the tranny due to the fact that tranny oil will never get as hot as engine oil.

Yep I'm still interested Dario so keep me informed if we get enough for group deal pricing. I hadn't realized this could also be used as an oil cooler. I do want to check into warranty risks should this be installed though, I don't want my warranty voided with all of the slipping automagics out there.

There is no external source like a AT w/ a factory cooler.

Need an adapter, and if its more than 1" thick your filter is dangerously close to your control arm, and even if the adapter plate is there, the hoses run very close to the accessory belts.

Dario, do some research about oil coolers, and you'll understand what I mean.
But it can be used to cool the tranny though, without causing the problems you speak of right? what your talkin about is when you use it for the engine oil?
