Ok... Yesterday they told me the exact car I want will be in today, but they called back and said they can't find any car in the 4-states that matches the ones I want (wtf?)

They said they could have a third-party put in black leather seats for me and that they look exactly the same... The seats may look the same (and both are electric) but... I was wondering...

When you get black leather seats what else inside the car changes? Any color differences, material differences besides the seats?

Yes, the sunrooof wind deflector is removeable. Just have to un-do 2 clips. And when the aftermarket leather place puts in leather for you, they will reupholster anything that would come with leather from the factory. Such as the door inserts. You should double check with your dealer to make sure, but that's how it was with mine.

I'm not sure how long it takes to install. When I was talkin to my dealer about it, he didn't mention a time frame. I'm still savin up to get mine done. Hopefully I'll have the $$$ soon

I know that a lot of the guys on the .org have done leather installs themselves. And I'm sure that most, if not all, have been able to do it within a day. I am thinking that I remember some saying something about 4 hours??? Anyways, a professional shop should have you out of there easily by the end of the day, I would assume.

My dealer said they can install NISSAN leather as a dealer option. No third-party junk. Said that it's all factory parts.

From what I've heard, aftermarket leather should be better than NISSAN leather. Better meaning thicker, softer, more durable. Plus with aftermarket, you have the option of more colors, and even a multi-colored scheme. You can also get it personalized to say something... I'm sure that there is other stuff you can do aftermarket that you couldn't get from the factory too.

I believe that factory leather includes side-impact airbags......not sure if that will be added with aftermarket stuff.

The dash will be a different color. My 2k2 max had frost interior before I got aftermarket and my dash is the color of the stereo's trim. Eric has black leather and his dash is black.

Added Leather Looks Crummy
I looked at 2 Grey Luster 2002 SEs side by side at my local dealership in late Aug. 01. One had factory black leather the other had dealer added black leather. The interior of the MAX with the dealer added leather looked cheap & crummy. It looked like it was added on. That car is still sitting on the lot. Either $5000 or $6000 off MSRP last I heard and they still can't sell it.
