I just can't stop driving this car. I picked her up on march 2, replacing a 99 accord coup 5 speed. The accord seemed a little more nimble and shifted a little better (only a little) but that is it.
The max shifts just fine ,handles great much better than my honda, lots of power (not going over 4000 rpm for first 1500 mi).The pasenger door seems a little harder to close, not worth bringing back for.Gas millage is good about 22 using a calculator, lots of room,
the ride is great, better than a c5 not as soft as my accord. My accord had a hard time with CD-R's,the max works great.I got sterling mist/black leather (i love white but did not like the max white with pearl).(i think white, red, and black should be only be a solid color, well that just what i think).I got everything but navigation List price $30,800. this is one great car for the money i hope they don't mess it up in the future.

Congratulations and if you don't mind my asking. What other cars did you consider and why ultimately the Max (besides being a great value)?

I have only owned 2 dr. autos including my 2k1 c5 conv.My wife wanted
a 4 dr.for family reasons,I live in the Boston area,so fwd and a limited slip is needed for my hills.I liked my friends bmw, great car but rwd and $60,000.
I wanted a 6 sp (I love the control it gives you and the fun of shifting). The max had everything I wanted at less than half the price,
you could call it a bmw 5 series on a budget. Call it what you like it's the best deal in town for under $30,000. Driving my maxima is like making love only it last longer.

Good you got the leather seats... they are easier to clean.

not sure exactly about your door, since you didn't really say much about it. But I've had similar "problems", and have read others here have too. I think what you're referring to is that it's hard to close, and most have said that it has to do with how air-tight the car is, thus the last door to close is hard to because of the pressure created. Some people took it in to the dealer, and the seals were adjusted no problem...

I know what you mean. Just remember if you happen to get up in the middle of the night to look at your Max, think nothing of I'm sure many of the other org. members do the exact same thing.

Thanks

I picked up my HSLD on 3/5. Beautiful car. No rattles. And it is very quick with almost no torque steer. I have been taking it easy on her since delivery in Norfolk. But after bringing her back to NOVA and driving her daily I've got over 500 miles already. So every now and then I but the hammer down for g/p...just not all the way down!

Use a white grease with silicon and spray some on the hinges and on the plastic stopper (in the middle of the door). It does the job.....
